Practice Nurses
Currently all clinical contact starts with a telephone conversation between the clinician and the patient, the only hands on activities offered during the current pandemic are:
In normal circumstances our Practice Nurses Jackie Briggs RGN and Julie Hoskins RGN and Kerri Bunce as well as our Health Care Assistants Sue Byrne and Lorna Beal cover the following services.
- Family Planning advice and Smears – including Emergency Contraception for young people.
- Adult / Child / Travel vaccinations
- Ear syringing
- Asthma / COPD / Spirometry
- Diabetic monitoring
- Advice on: Diet; Smoking; Lifestyle,
- Other general matters.
Practice Nurses Jackie Briggs and Julie Hoskin will see patients with minor ailments in the same manner as doctors and can prescribe medication where required.
